Our Brand Purpose
The nature of LIFT’s cause; its vision, mission, and work is complex. There is so much education and understanding that we need to deliver to people in our communities to recognize the violence that is prostitution and to take action to dismantle the systems that enable it. It is also simple—we respect survivors implicitly. LIFT is a community of unquestionable support for Survivors of the sex trade.
To the Survivors we work with, the LIFT brand will do just that; lift. A community of unconditional acceptance, support, and encouragement. Community, no matter what.
To the world, the LIFT brand will be a vision of radical imagination to build a society that is collaborative in healing from trauma, centers the humanity of each person, and takes collective action to make justice, abundance, and joy for all a compelling pursuit.
The LIFT brand will celebrate feminine leadership; “not just women leaders, but leaders who shift our understanding of how power can be held.” (adrienne maree brown)
To move this work forward, the LIFT brand will challenge systems of power as well as systems of thinking and address the root causes of violence including white supremacy and racism, patriarchal and sexist capitalism, xenophobic colonialism, and toxic masculinity.
Recognizing the complexity of these issues, LIFT will work to educate people by naming the simple interactions that play out everyday in the lives of people in and exiting from systems of prostitution. We will share stories that will weave together the narrative of injustice, oppression, and violence Survivors experience at the hands of our communities.
